The Facemasks You Need For Your Skin Type
David Ruff
I have had no shortage of acne horror stories throughout the years. While treating my skin issues I have learned a thing or two on what to do and what not do. Whether I am maintaining the current state of my skin or attempting to eradicate a breakout, I always turn to facemasks.
Facemasks are not only a cornerstone of my self-care regimen but also are extremely effective when used correctly and routinely. My skin tends to fare on the drier side (probably due to the absurd amount of coffee I consume on a daily basis) so I try to exfoliate once a week and moisturize every day. Depending on your skin concerns, you might have to exfoliate more or less and moisturize more or less.
Keep on reading to find out which facemasks are the right fit for your skin type.
For dry and dull skin
Bonus tip: go to sleep with a hydrating mask on for a boost of moisture the next morning!
For oily and acne prone skin
Bonus tip: if you are breaking out in specific areas, only use your preferred mask to spot treat and tend to the rest of your skin accordingly!
For dark spots and acne scars
Bonus tip: consider gradually incorporating a gentle retinol (my favorite is the Shani Darden Texture Reform Gentle Resurfacing Serum) in to your skincare routine on days that you don’t exfoliate to encourage cell turnover and brightening!
